stable in air, compound of equal quantity of dextro-rotatory and levo-rotatory tartaric acid, containing one or two molecule crystalline water and losting water 
when heated to 100C, specific gravity 1.697. Its solubility in ether is about 1% and 
5.01(25C) in ethanol, in water is 20.60(20C)..

Use： DLTartaric Acid is widely used in food, medicine, chemistry and light industry, etc.. 
Mainly used to manufacture tartaric acid salts, such potassium sodium tartrate and 
used as beer foaming agent. Also applied in tanning, photo, glass, enamel and telecom 
materials industries. Its acidity is as 1.3 times as citric acid, so specially as acidifying agent for grape juice.
